SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Another South Dakota State University football coach will be heading to Washington State University.

ESPN college football senior writer Pete Thamel announced on Friday that WSU is expected to hire Jesse Bobbitt as the school’s new defensive coordinator.

Bobbitt has served as the Jackrabbits defensive coordinator/linebackers coach since 2023. He was the safeties coach in 2022. Bobbit has already been on the WSU staff. He was a defensive graduate assistant and quality control coach during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

On December 28, Washington State announced the hiring of former SDSU football head coach Jimmy Rodgers.

Bobbitt was a linebacker at SDSU from 2013-2016. He began his coaching career as a grad assistant at SDSU in 2019.
