Overruling Roe was “easy” for Justices Alito, Thomas, and the three “known liars” on the SCOTUS. It is also easy to see how abortion clinics in certain states must close. But now very difficult legal questions must be answered when it comes to FDA-certified medicine (federal law) versus “illegal abortions” (as defined by state law), and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem – who has never missed an opportunity to put herself in place to run for president – wants to be one of the first to make it illegal for South Dakotan women to receive a prescription for abortifacients.

Video of Noem on CBS’s Face The Nation:

According to The Hill:

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) on Sunday said she will ban telemedicine appointments with abortion care providers who prescribe pills online in the GOP-controlled state in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Noem told host Margaret Brennan on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that she brought a bill forward in her state to ban the telemedicine appointments in order to block women from getting prescription abortion pills online and receiving them through the mail.

“These are very dangerous medical procedures,” Noem argued. “We don’t believe it should be available because it is a dangerous situation for an individual without being medically supervised by a physician.”

Interesting. One would think that the physician on the other end of the phone would understand the dangers more so than Noem. One would think that the FDA understands the risks associated with these meds more so than Noem. But if we’ve learned one thing in the last week it is that right-wing politicians and justices (redundant) believe that they know what is best for everyone.

This is the next logical step, only now things get far more complicated.
