SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Scheels Iceplex will be closed for approximately five to seven weeks due to problems with the chiller.
According to the Scheels Iceplex website on Thursday, the chiller that has been supporting all three surfaces of ice at the facility for the past nine years has stopped working.
All Learn to Skate, Hockey Academy, Aspire, Advanced classes and Freestyle Ice sessions are canceled.
Crews will start making repairs on Monday. They hope to be fully operational by the start of the winter season in late October.
