SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — Areas of rain in central KELOLAND early this morning will continue grow and to move east.
As a cold front moves across eastern and southeastern KELOLAND this afternoon, expect developing showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms will become strong to severe.
The Storm Prediction Center has outlined eastern South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa with a severe weather risk for today.
Ahead of the front south winds will keep temperatures warm. As highs reach the 80s across eastern and southeastern KELOLAND. Behind the front, temperatures will be cooler. With highs in the 70s to near 80.
Eastern and Southeastern and South Dakota still may have showers and thunderstorms this evening. A lot of the activity will be found in Minnesota and northwest Iowa.
Expect dry conditions overnight as storms continue to move east. Lows tonight will fall to the 50s with northwest winds.
Tomorrow will be the start of a dry period in KELOLAND. Highs tomorrow will be in the 70s to near 80°. Saturday will be the warmest day of the Labor Day Weekend. Highs on Saturday will reach the 80s to near 90°.
Expect cooler weather for Sunday and Labor Day. With highs in the 70s. A lot of the shortened work week will be dry and warm with highs in the 70s and 80s.
