Cloudy and mild to start the new workweek! Feels great outside to begin your early morning, as we continue to monitor the radar for spotty showers. Most of the morning will remain fairly light on the rain chances until the front approaches this afternoon.
Later today, expect the winds to turn breezy, temperatures holding in the upper 50s (10° above average), as rain chances increase in coverage across the state. The cold front will pass around 7 p.m. as we make our shift to more seasonal temperatures late tonight and into your Tuesday on northwest winds.
Wednesday is a big travel day and we continue to monitor a system that will be building across the region by the afternoon and evening. All indications are this system will bring rain but some snow will mix in at times, especially north of Indianapolis, by Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning. Some slushy accumulations will be possible on grassy areas but roads overall should remain wet. Also, quite windy at times, adding to lowering visibilities.
The coldest air of the season arrives on Friday and will hold through early next week! Temperatures may not reach above 32° for several days with many morning lows in the teens…ouch!
