SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — More than 260 artists, crafters and vendors are featured during the Sidewalk Arts Festival in downtown Sioux Falls. The free festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the streets surrounding the Washington Pavilion. There will be appearances by Radley Rex at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Live musical performance in the Sculpture Garden include Brady Wrede at 11 a.m., Carey Hofer and Bill Gibson at noon, Janice Gilbert at 1 p.m. and Jordan Jaacks at 2 p.m. The festival is one of the Pavilion’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

Other shopping options include Gift & Thrift at 10th & Bahnson in Sioux Falls which is hosting an Outdoor Sale featuring retro, vintage and antiques for sale. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Fall Junk Fest at the Nest features artisans selling vintage items, antiques, re-purposed, refurbished and handcrafted treasures from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s located at 3720 S. River Bluff Road in Sioux Falls. Admission is free. Food trucks will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Randy McAllister and the Scrappiest Band in the Motherland is the featured performer during the free Levitt at the Falls concert in downtown Sioux Falls. The music starts at 7 p.m. with opening act Funk-UH-Fried.

The American Revolution Experience is an interactive, multi-media exhibit about the U.S. war for independence. It’s taking place at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance Museum from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Operation Homecoming in Luverne, MN celebrates the arrival of a Jeep Willy that landed in France during the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944. Activities include a military vehicle parade at 11:30 a.m. on Luverne’s Main Street, a command readiness inspection at the Rock County Courthouse at 12:30 p.m. and a world-premier video about the jeep at the Palace Theatre at 3 p.m. All events are free.

The National Music Museum on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion is hosting Music Storytime. Children ages 3-6 can explore the world of music through stories and toe-tapping tunes in the museum lobby starting at 10:30 a.m.

SDSU Extension is hosting an Insect Festival at McCrory Gardens in Brookings. The festival goes from 1-4 p.m. and includes garden tours, an insect costume parade, edible insects and crafts.

Noteboom RV in Harrisburg is hosting a Touch-A-Truck event featuring emergency and military vehicles, as well as construction equipment and trucks. There will also be food trucks and a pet adoption. The hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society is hosting an open house at their club building on the north side of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The free open house runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday.

It’s Fall Festival time at Country Apple Orchard in Harrisburg, SD. Activities include picking your own apples, a petting zoo, apple cannon range, a zip line and corn maze. Today’s hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $14.95. Free for kids under three feet tall. The Fall Festival runs every weekend through October.

Farmers Market season in KELOLAND includes the Falls Park Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Brandon Farmers Market goes from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 925 North Splitrock Boulevard. The farmers markets are held each Saturday through October.

The Heartland County Corn Maze, east of Harrisburg on Highway 11, is open for its 25th season. The 11-acre maze is open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday’s hours are noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $9, $6 for children and free for ages 4 and under.

The musical Parables & Proverbs is playing at The Orpheum Theater Center in downtown Sioux Falls. Today’s performance is at 2 p.m. Sunday’s show time is 4 pm. Tickets are $15 to $20.

Movies playing at the historic State Theater in downtown Sioux Falls include Bambi, rated G, plus Sing Sing and Old School, both rated R.

New movie releases playing at a theater near you include Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, rated PG-13 and The Front Room, rated R.

Racing season wraps up tonight at I-90 Speedway in Hartford with the Season Championship.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. The races start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15, $6 for students, free for ages 12 and under.
