SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Falls Park is, once again, aglow for the holidays during Winter Wonderland. Park visitors will be dazzled by the more than 25 miles of lights and other decorations on display nightly through January 5th. The lights are on from 5 p.m. to midnight. Admission is free.
Walk a Mile in My Shoes is a Sioux Falls event to wrap up Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, hosted by the St. Francis House. Participants are invited to fill a new or gently-used backpack with 15 pounds of essential items to carry during the walk. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. at the Big Sioux River and 6th Street. The walk begins at 11 a.m. Backpacks will be collected following the walk.
A concert featuring original music by Pierre composer Calvin Jones will raise funds Freedom’s Haven, a non-profit dedicated to bringing Ukrainian war refugees to South Dakota. The music starts at 7 p.m. in the Hamre Recital Hall on the Augustana University campus. Admission is free.
The Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society is hosting Trains at Christmas. You can check out model train layouts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Expo Center of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Sunday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $7, free for ages 12 and under.
The Autumn Festival features hundreds of the nation’s finest artists and crafters selling their handcrafted works at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The doors open at 9 a.m. There will also be gift certificate drawings. Admission is $9.
Great Bear Ski Valley is hosting a Ski & Snowboard Swap from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A 20-percent commission on the gear that sells will benefit the Great Bear Ski Patrol. All sales are cash-only. An ATM will be on site.
Open skating sessions at the SCHEELS IcePlex in Sioux Falls are 1-3 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children. Skate rentals are $4.
