RN-to-BS Degree Program Joins Statewide Collaboration

Georgia State’s School of Nursing joined a collaborative academic agreement with other University System of Georgia (USG) nursing schools to provide common RN to BS program courses centrally. This means that Georgia State’s RN-to-BS students, who are all online, will take some program core courses from other Georgia colleges and universities through the USG’s eCampus.

This collaboration begins Fall semester 2022, so the Lewis College is changing the RN-to-BS program to a fall admission. Students will still receive the low-cost online tuition they have come to expect and will still graduate as Georgia State students.

All collaborative courses are taught in 8-week minimesters, increasing students’ ability to complete the degree in one year.

“Joining the USG’s eCampus for RN to BS opens our program to a larger number of potential students, all registered nurses, who may go on to complete advanced degrees with Georgia State,” said Dr. Joan Cranford, assistant dean for nursing. “This collaboration will provide a common core for students as well as shared services for faculty.”
