Kamala Harris not only came up short on the White House — her campaign may have fallen short of Federal Election Commission (FEC) requirements as well.

The claim of wrongdoing concerns the Harris campaign’s unsuccessful attempt to capture a share of the Republican voters that would ultimately contribute to Donald Trump’s decisive, landslide victory over Harris.

Turning Point Action — the activist affiliate of Turning Point USA — filed an FEC Complaint against the Republicans for Harris campaign in Arizona. The COO of Turning Point Action, Tyler Bowyer, announced the complaint filing on Thursday.

“We do believe it is important to expose dark money backers, bad actors and the entities who have been manipulating Arizonans for a far too long,” said Bowyer.

Republicans for Harris is a campaign launched in August by Kamala Harris’ campaign — or, a “campaign within a campaign,” per their team. The campaign expanded beyond Arizona to other key states, North Carolina and Pennsylvania (both of which Harris lost).

The filing comes a little over a week after the FEC fined Turning Point Action $18,000 for failing to disclose nearly $33,800 in contributions from donors who gave over $200 during the 2020 election.

Members of Republicans for Harris included Mesa Mayor John Giles; Mesa City Councilmember Julie Spilsbury; Glendale City Councilmember Bart Turner; former Senator Jeff Flake; former state lawmakers Rich Crandall, Joel John, Steve May, Robin Shaw, and Bob Worsley; former Scottsdale Mayor Sam Campana; and former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley. At their peak, their Arizona committee claimed to have over 200 members.

Other national leaders who joined the effort: former vice president Dick Cheney and his daughter, former congresswoman Liz Cheney; former Trump staffer Olivia Troye; former lieutenant governor for Georgia Geoff Duncan; Bush treasurer Rosario Martin; former Illinois congressman Joe Walsh; former RNC delegate Rina Shah; and former Virginia congressman Denver Riggleman.

As of Thursday night, Donald Trump led Kamala Harris in the state by nearly six points with nearly 80 percent of the vote reported. Trump’s win came in alongside a takeover of the Senate, securing a Republican trifecta.

On Election Day, the leader of “Young Republicans for Harris,” Reed Howard, published a Substack article through Republicans for Harris that warned that it might take “longer than we would like” to receive the election results.

Howard is the chief strategy and public affairs officer for Future Caucus.

It took less than 24 hours to determine Trump as the victor of the 2024 election.

The day after Election Day, Republicans for Harris issued its statement on Trump’s win. The organization declared that Republicans who voted for Democrats this election were “on the right side of history.”

On Thursday, Republicans for Harris launched an X space, “What’s next for non-MAGA America?” Howard claimed in that space that there will be “a lot of hardship coming down the pipeline” under Trump, and that the president-elect will “do bad, scary, and terrible things.”
