Madison – State Representative Chuck Wichgers announced Monday that Janel Brandtjen will
be coming on as a new staff member in his office for the 107th legislative session beginning
January 6th.
Representative Wichgers released the following statement:
Following my appointment as chair of the Assembly Committee on Constitution and Ethics for
the 2025-26 session, my first task was to add one office staff member to handle committee
responsibilities.
I looked at talented prospects and conducted several interviews. I considered who would be a
good fit for my office, and as the process moved forward Janel Brandtjen came to mind. Former
state representative Janel Brandtjen has the experience and institutional knowledge to handle
the weighty issues that should come before the legislature. Janel was first elected in 2014 and
honorably served the 22nd Assembly District for 10 years.
For myself and my office, the decision reflects the right timing, the right opportunity, and the
right person to serve constituents in the new 84th Assembly District. I am confident that she will
complement and continue the excellent service my office has always given constituents.
