MADISON, WI – On August 30th, Governor Evers announced a Back-To-School investment of $90 million to support K-12 students and classrooms. On this investment, Representative Stubbs released the following statement:
“I am proud that Governor Evers decided to make this announcement at Leopold Elementary School, which is located in my district. Education is everything. As students across our state come back to school, it is vital that they have the support they need to be successful young scholars. These critical investments will expand access to mental healthcare for students and help close staffing shortages inside our schools. Once again, Governor Evers is coming to the plate to support our schools, and more importantly our students.”
“Schools across Wisconsin are facing staffing shortages that are straining teachers and underserving our students. This critical investment will help alleviate this strain and bring more quality talent into our classrooms. Closing these staffing shortages will help ensure that Wisconsin teachers are better able to serve Wisconsin students.”
“By doubling his “Get Kids Ahead” initiative, Governor Evers is making a dedicated effort to keep our students healthy beyond the classroom. The exacerbating mental health challenges facing our students impact their education and their overall health. Investing in mental wellness today will allow our students to be successful in the future.”
“With school coming back into session, I am proud that Governor Evers is continuing to put students first and that he chose to make this announcement in the 77th Assembly District. As your representative, I support these critical investments and hope that my legislative colleagues will come to the table to build on this growth”
