MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Tony Evers and the Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy released Wisconsin’s new Clean Energy Plan. Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement in support:
“Today’s announcement of Wisconsin’s Clean Energy Plan is an important step forward in our efforts to curb climate change and reduce inequities in our communities. I am thrilled that Governor Evers is building off the work we did on the Task Force on Climate Change to make sure that Wisconsin is ready to adapt, innovate, and transition towards a greener future.
“As part of the plan, Governor Evers and the Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy have identified strategies that will help lower energy bills and prices at the pump for Wisconsinites, create more than 40,000 green jobs by 2030, accelerate clean energy technology development, and invest in employment programs for our growing green economy.
“Using this plan, we can chart a path forward for Wisconsin to tackle climate change. It is vital that we take this important step forward. It’s time to get to work.”
