United States President Joe Biden announced in a letter Sunday afternoon (July 21, 2024) that he’s ending his re-election campaign, but the democrat plans to complete his current term in office.

Republican South Dakota U.S. Congressman Dusty Johnson offered his take on the President’s decision.

However, Johnson doesn’t believe Biden stepping aside changes the fundamentals of the Presidential race.

Democratic party delegates will determine who their candidate will be during their convention next month (Aug. 19-22, 2024) in Chicago. Biden has endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris to replace him on the November general election ballot.

Despite Biden’s announcement, Johnson says there’s still a lot of work to do in Congress before years-end.
