SOUTH DAKOTA (KELO) — The American Red Cross is distributing emergency clean-up kits to assist people in the flooded areas of South Dakota.
These supplies will include clean-up items, such as rakes, shovels, gloves, totes, trash bags and bleach, stated the American Red Cross, Minnesota and Dakotas.
The kits will be available at the Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Headquarters, Station #3, 2820 S. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
The teams have been opening shelters, serving meals assessing damaged homes and mobilizing response vehicles to bring aid to flooding victims.
The Red Cross also distributed kits in Mitchell and Mt. Vernon on Saturday.
Residents affected by the flooding can receive assistance by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). The free Red Cross Emergency app can be downloaded for weather alerts, open Red Cross shelter locations and safety steps for emergencies such as flooding.
