SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Rapid City Police Department says it’s going to increase its police presence after a homicide took place downtown earlier this week.

On Tuesday Rapid City Police say 22-year-old Diontae Eagleman stabbed a man around 7 pm just a block from city hall.

In a Facebook post, RCPD said the efforts are because of the impact the violent crime had on local businesses and the community.

Some of the changes include increased security cameras, more officers on patrol and engaging in the community.
