INDIANAPOLIS – Indy’s south side is getting a Raising Cane’s.

The Louisiana-based chain famous for its chicken fingers is building a new location at 8739 U.S. 31 South. The address is north of County Line Road, putting it in Marion County.

The site formerly housed a PNC Bank. The company’s plans call for the restaurant to open in December.

Raising Cane’s opened its first restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996. It features a limited menu based primarily on chicken fingers, with sides like crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and coleslaw.

Many fans can’t get enough of its “Cane’s Sauce,” a signature dipping sauce that’s spawned its fair share of copycats.

“Raising Cane’s is excited to continue our expansion in Indianapolis and bring our ONE LOVE craveable Chicken Finger Meals to 8739 US 31 S later this December,” the company said in an email.

In 2022, the chain said it had “big plans” for Indiana, and it has been expanding in the Hoosier State ever since. The south side location will mark its fourth in the Indianapolis metropolitan area; other restaurants have already opened in Avon, Carmel and Noblesville.

You’ll also find Raising Cane’s restaurants in Bloomington, Kokomo, Fort Wayne, Lafayette, Michigan City, Mishawaka and West Lafayette. The south side location will be the chain’s twelfth in Indiana. Raising Cane’s has nearly 850 restaurants in the U.S.
