SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —Expect a blend of sun and clouds across KELOLAND on this Veterans Day. Temperatures will likely stay in the 40s with north winds for most locations.

Weekend rainfall was heavier in western South Dakota. Sioux Falls picked up .05″ of rain, but totals over .50″ were found in the areas shaded in blue and yellow. More rain chances are on the way starting Tuesday night.

Here’s a look at Futurecast. We expect those areas of clouds to decrease this afternoon as hourly temperatures hold in the 40s for many in KELOLAND. We still expect 50s in the southwest. Dry skies are forecast tonight as south winds increase. Stronger south winds are likely Tuesday, with gusts over 30 mph likely Tuesday afternoon.

You can see those wind trends on the map below. Look for a shift on the winds to the northwest during the day on Wednesday.

The rest of the work week is looking dry and mild with highs mainly in the 50s to lower 60s. We do see some more active weather brewing to our southwest early next week. It’s a bit early to get specific details yet, but it looks like portions of the central and southern plains will once again pick up some welcome moisture.

Here are the details of the forecast.
