Rain and storms return Friday, severe threat downgraded for Cincinnati region

There have been big changes to the afternoon forecast and they are for the better.LIVE RADAR // LATEST WEATHER ALERTS Midday heavy rain and thunder will significantly limit the threat for severe weather for the second half of the day. There will be a break in the action this afternoon but extensive cloud cover and lingering showers will limit any additional energy from building up during the day. Any additional rain and storms that form during the early evening hours Friday will be below severe limits. The best chance of seeing a few strong storms will be south of the 71/75 split and would contain heavy rain and gusty winds through sunset. Lows tonight will be near 70.We quiet things down as we go past midnight and through sunrise on Saturday. The clouds slowly give way to sunshine by Saturday afternoon and the humidity will slowly drop off as well. Highs tomorrow reach the mid 80s.Sunday looks sunny and comfortable with highs both days near 84°. Our next chance for a few storms holds off until next Tuesday.
