If you’re searching for a living, breathing example of what it means to have “good energy,” let me introduce you to Radhi Devlukia-Shetty. After our first five minutes together, I felt myself fully embracing her contagious zest for life. It’s clear that Radhi is excited by the everyday, but she also radiates the calm energy of someone who’s truly comfortable in her own skin, giving you permission to take a deep exhale and be fully yourself in her presence.

Let me set the scene: when you enter the Los Angeles home that Radhi shares with her husband, Jay Shetty, you’ll notice the gentle California breeze blowing through the open doors and windows. A candle perfumes the air with a spa-like scent, and the multitude of plants throughout the space bring nature in. As she showed our team around her space, it was evident that Radhi felt a true connection with every thoughtfully-designed item in the home. She’s beautifully integrated her family, spirituality, and heritage throughout every element of the life she’s created, and our entire team walked away feeling inspired to bring such an intentional approach to our own daily lives.

Radhi Devlukia-Shetty Shares Her Intentional Morning Rituals

How has your background influenced the way you integrate wellness and cooking?

There’s one quote that I would say gave me the push I needed to start sharing what I had learned and was learning with the world online. It’s a quote by a spiritual teacher His Holiness Radhanath Swami where he said “Knowledge is useless unless it is shared.”

I realized how lucky I was to have grown up in a culture where we had delicious, vibrant, and abundant plant-based meals, to have been taught by such incredible teachers, and to have found and studied Ayurveda and holistic wellness. I felt the best way I can show gratitude for that is to share it with others. I saw how much it changed not only my health but my whole life, and I wanted everyone to be able to experience the same joy and change I felt.

Tell us about your career and starting a business. What has life been like as an entrepreneur?

It has been constant learning. If you’re an entrepreneur and working for yourself, it’s not always glamorous—you have to be able to do everything. You get to understand your entire business from the foundation because you have to do things from scratch.

When you’re an entrepreneur you are choosing the path of what you want to do, so even when it’s hard and exhausting—it’s YOURS and there is so much passion, dedication, and motivation.

What has been your biggest learning over the past year?

To face my fears. Taking on the things I’ve been avoiding out of fear. And it made me realize that when you familiarize yourself with something, it becomes less scary.

Let’s get into your morning routine. What does a typical day look like for you?

5:00 am. Wake up, brush teeth, scrape tongue, and stand on my marma mat.

5:30-7:00 a.m. Make CCF tea (cumin, coriander, fennel) and take it to the mediation area, where I do breath work and mantra meditation.

7:00 a.m. Work out—either weight training with Louise Hazel at Slay Gym or cardio.

8:30 a.m. Shower (body scrub), and then I do an abhyanga massage using herbal oils and massaging the entire body. This helps your lymphatic system to drain toxins and helps calm the nervous system.

9:00 a.m. Breakfast—usually a protein shake and hummus avo toast with sprouts, and start the work day with my team!
