MANILA, Philippines—Veteran setter Rhea Dimaculangan believes it’s only a matter of time before PLDT is able to perfect new coach Rald Ricafort’s system.

The High Speed Hitters have only played five games since Ricafort took over the helm two months ago and he’s made wonders so far with the team emerging as one of the top teams in the league.

“We haven’t fully adjusted yet but we’re getting there. Just a few more [games], said Dimaculangan in Filipino after starring in PLDT’s four-set win over Akari in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday.

“We just embrace the challenges every game along with our trust in each other and trust in our coach. And of course, our confidence.”

Dimaculangan finished with 22 excellent sets on top of three points as the High Speed Hitters notched their fourth victory in a row after dropping their first game of the conference.

Dimaculangan’s stellar playmaking also led to a balanced offensive effort by PLDT led by Mich Morente’s 14 points.

Dell Palomata and Mika Reyes also finished in double-digits with 13 and 10, respectively.

“I’m super happy that I got to activate them, even though the game wasn’t that smooth. At the end of the day, though, a win is a win. I’m thankful for coach because his trust in me is there,” said the former University of Santo Tomas standout.

Ricafort, who replaced George Pascua, also thinks his team is inching closer to getting to where it needs to be.

“We’re near. I’m lucky because the players are really buying into the system. The transition was easy but there are parts that still need polishing. Small details still need to be polished. This is new after all,” said the former Petro Gazz coach.

PLDT goes for five straight when it clashes with F2 Logistics next. The High Speed Hitters and Cargo Movers are currently tied for second place at 4-1.
