Presidential granddaughter Naomi Biden and her intended, Peter Neal, will be added to the pantheon of couples married at the White House come Nov. 19.

Biden, 28, and Neal, 24, will wed on the South Lawn, the bride-to-be announced on Twitter Thursday.

“Sooo not sure how best to update but was supposed to do so weeks ago…but we have finally figured out where the ceremony will be…and much to the relief of secret service and with the dogs’ endorsement…we’ll be getting married on the South Lawn!” she tweeted along with a picture of said lawn. “Couldn’t be more excited.”

The White House has hosted 18 weddings throughout history, starting with the March 29, 1812, marriage of Lucy Payne Washington, First Lady Dolley Madison’s sister, to Supreme Court Associate Justice Thomas Todd, according to the White House historical archive.

The most recent ceremony to be held there was the Rose Garden wedding of official White House photographer Pete Souza to Patti Lease on Oct. 19, 2013.

In addition, four wedding receptions have been held at the White House.

Naomi Biden, the younger daughter of the President’s son Hunter Biden and Kathleen Buhle, had announced in April that the White House would be the site of the reception, but did not divulge the ceremony’s venue. First Lady Jill Biden at the time had said through her press secretary, Michael LaRosa, that further details would be forthcoming in the ensuing months.

“Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House,” Naomi Biden tweeted at the time. “We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead.”

One detail that has been set since the get-go is that the Biden family will foot the bill, from personal funds.

“Consistent with other private events hosted by the First Family and following the traditions of previous White House wedding festivities in prior Administrations, the Biden family will be paying for the wedding activities that occur at the White House,” Jill Biden’s then press secretary, Michael LaRosa, said in April.

The happy couple met in New York City, set up by mutual friends, and have been together for four years. She is a lawyer, and he graduated from law school in the spring.
