Indiana State Police is asking the public for help identifying the body of a boy found in a wooded area in eastern Washington County. ISP said at 7:30 p.m. Saturday while mushroom hunting, a resident found the boy’s body near the roadway.The resident called 911 and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded.Detectives with the Indiana State Police in Sellersburg were then called to investigate.Now ISP is asking for help identifying the child.He is described as being a young, Black male between the ages of 5 years old and 8 years old. He is around 4 feet tall and has a slim build and a short haircut.Investigators believe the child died sometime within the last week. Investigators have not released a time or cause of death since an autopsy is pending.
