CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly carried out an armed robbery of a truck stop in Crawfordsville early Thursday morning.
Officers with the Crawfordsville Police Department were called around 3:06 a.m. to McClure’s Oil, located at 1900 Smith Avenue, in response to reports of an armed robbery.
CPD described the suspect as a male of “medium” height who had his face and head covered. The suspect is alleged to have entered the business and displayed a handgun while demanding cash.
The employee handed over an unspecified amount of money and the suspect fled the scene before officers could arrive, CPD said.
Police proceeded to conduct a search of the surrounding area and consulted with local businesses. However, the suspect could not be located.
CPD said the suspect was last seen wearing gloves, a large flannel-style coat, brown pants and light-colored shoes. As of this article’s publication, no vehicle description was available.
