A motorist involved in a minor two-vehicle accident was critically injured Tuesday when a third car crashed at the scene, according to Metro Police.

The incident happened about 11:35 a.m. on Tropicana Avenue, east of Maryland Parkway, police said.

A pickup truck and a Toyota Corolla were involved in a minor crash, and while the drivers were outside inspecting the damage, a Toyota Camry rear-ended the truck, according to police.

The impact pushed the truck into the driver of the Corolla, a 55-year-old Las Vegas man, who was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Camry, Serena Mueller 23, of Las Vegas, showed signs of impairment and was arrested, police said.

Mueller was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, failure to decrease speed and additional counts related to residing in Nevada without having an in-state license, according to jail logs.

Mueller was scheduled to make an initial appearance today in Las Vegas Justice Court, according to case records.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
