Multiple gunshots were heard in a west Phoenix apartment complex that leaves a 43-year-old female dead and a second adult male injured.
Around 11:15 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to a shooting call near 27th Avenue and Tuckey Lane. When officers responded to the scene, they located 43-year-old Tokeita Johnson and an adult male with gunshot wounds. Officers experienced a chaotic scene as multiple on-lookers were yelling and ignoring officers’ commands. The scene was ultimately secured, and the Phoenix Fire Department arrived and pronounced Johnson deceased on scene. The adult male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
