INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police arrested a man in connection with a late February homicide.
Alexander Cross, 27, was booked on a preliminary murder charge. The IMPD Violent Crimes Unit took Cross into custody on Thursday.
He’s suspected of killing 40-year-old Randy White, who was found dead around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27. IMPD Southwest District officers responded to the 100 block of S. Belmont Avenue for a reported shooting.
They said White had suffered injuries consistent with gunshot wounds; emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The coroner’s office ruled his death a homicide.
Evidence from the scene and information from community members led detectives to identify Cross as the suspect.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision.
