SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls sporting goods store is embracing the new season while supporting a local small business.

Scheels in Sioux Falls plans to bring some fall flare to the centerpiece of the store.

“Pixie Acres Flower Farm is coming to set up. They’re going to bring all their fall flowers. They’ll be by the Ferris Wheel and customers can come in and make their own bouquet and purchase from them,” Scheel’s social media manager Jenna Schlapkohl said.

Jenna Schlapkohl is the social media manager and says Scheels is welcoming back the family flower farm for a one-day event Wednesday, after a successful stop earlier this year.

“Spring was crazy. People loved all the flowers that they got here and so we were really excited to bring them back in for their fall flowers,” Schlapkohl said.

“It’s just such an incredible opportunity to share our blooms and spread some joy to the Sioux Falls and surrounding area,” Pixie Acres Flower Farm owner Jessie Ruml said.

Jessie Ruml owns Pixie Acres and is bringing an entire trailer of locally grown flowers.

“Our main hitters for flowers right now are Dahlias, Lisianthus, Sunflowers, Zinnias,” Ruml said. “And then we also have a bunch of Eucalyptus coming that we’ve been growing here on the farm, so there’s lots of different things to choose from this time,” Ruml said.

Ruml encourages everyone to stop and smell the flowers.

“With life so busy right now, school started again, all the sports are starting again for the school year, busy work schedules, even if you’re not going to buy something just come by and share some joy in those,” Ruml said.

And Scheels is more than happy to help a small business.

“We love partnering with local businesses, it’s one of our favorite things to do and so when she reached out it was an easy yes, partially because our office just really loves flowers as well, so why not,” Schlapkohl said.

The Fall Bloom Bar is on Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Scheels.
