In another doubleheader earlier today, the Govs hosted Spearfish at the PILC and swept the Spartans with a combined 8 goals.
In game 1, the Govs girls team won 6-1 and improved their season record to 6-1 as well. After a shaky first half from both teams, the Gov’s offense exploded with goals from Natalie Flottemeyer (2), Jasmine Jost, Katelyn Taylor & Devyn Van Roekel (2).
In game 2 the Spartans played the Govs tough. Pierre missed multiple opportunities in front of the net but was able to hold off Spearfish to win 2-1. Head Coach Sean Blanchette was pleased after coaching his team to a hard win, and the Govs improve to 4-2-1 on the season.
