The intersection of Missouri Avenue and Henry Street in Pierre is closed.
Weather pending, the intersection will re-open midweek as the city works to replace a water main in the intersection. Through traffic is encouraged to detour around the area.
The city maintains 80 miles of streets, more than 100 miles of water main, and more than 60 miles of sanitary sewer. Each year, city staff assess the streets, in addition to utilities, sidewalks and curbs to prioritize street maintenance and reconstruction projects.
