SIOUX FALLS SD (KELO) — The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks has posted some photos of multiple vehicles that have fallen through the ice on Bitter Lake in Day County over the weekend.

Bitter Lake is a popular ice fishing spot for fisherman in the state.

“Wildlife Conservation Officers and local law enforcement are aware of the two vehicles that drove into a heave on Bitter Lake just east of Webster, SD,” the SDGFP wrote.

The Day County Sheriff’s Office posted about the incidents and said a deputy was able to get the man to safety.

GFP officials are reminding those on the lake to be mindful of the ever-changing ice conditions and do not travel on the ice at night or in poor visibility if you are not familiar with the lake you are on.
