On Monday, July 22, 2024, a woman reported that she caught her 21-year-old son, Kenneth Sellner, on security cameras committing bestiality on their property near 16th Street and Cloud Road.
Sellner’s mother informed deputies that she had assigned him the task of cleaning the horse stalls while she was away on vacation.
While monitoring the surveillance cameras to ensure that Sellner was completing his chores, she discovered footage of him performing sex acts on the horse, including touching the horse’s genitals and rubbing the horse’s genitals on his bare body.
Sellner’s mother immediately canceled her trip, returned home, and confronted her son about the footage. Sellner claimed he was cleaning the horse, but his mother noted that there was no water, soap, or gloves visible during the incidents, which are typically used for cleaning horse sheaths. She instructed Sellner to leave the property and subsequently contacted the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) to report the incidents and provide surveillance evidence.
Deputies reviewed the footage and confirmed that Sellner had committed bestiality on two different occasions on the property while his mother was on vacation. Sellner was later located at a friend’s apartment near 7th Street and Beardsley Road. With the friend’s consent, detectives entered the apartment, found Sellner lying on the couch, and took him into custody without incident.
After being read his Miranda rights, Sellner admitted to touching the horse’s genitals while cleaning the stalls, claiming that the horse’s genitals were “flaky” and that “one thing led to another.” Sellner was subsequently booked into the Maricopa County jail on two counts of bestiality.
