INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police say a person was injured in an early morning incident on the south side.
Police responded around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday to the 5600 block of S. State Avenue. A police run showed officers were initially called to the location for a reported stabbing.
When police arrived, they found a person had been shot by a projectile; officers were trying to figure out if it was intentional or accidental. A firearm was not involved in the incident.
The victim was described as awake and breathing, although police didn’t disclose the extent of the injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
