INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis police say a man died in a shooting Friday morning on Indy’s south side.
Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Hanna Avenue for a reported shooting around 5:25 a.m. They found an adult male had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating this as a homicide.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, all involved parties are known to detectives and have been accounted for. One person has been taken to the Homicide Office for questioning. IMPD hasn’t made an arrest at this point.
A child was present during the incident, police said, and was not hurt. Detectives and Victim Assistance will work with the Department of Child Services to make sure the child is placed safely.
Forensic investigators were called to the scene to collect evidence. The shooting remains under investigation.
