INDIANAPOLIS – A person died in a Thursday morning shooting on the near west side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan police were dispatched around 5:15 a.m. to the 3800 block of W. Michigan St. for a reported shooting.
Officers found a person suffering from injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Police initially reported that the victim was in critical condition; shortly after that, the individual was pronounced dead.
Police have detained a suspect, IMPD said. The shooting remains under investigation.
