About the Bird: The world’s fastest birds, Peregrine Falcons plunge from the sky at up to 180 miles per hour to strike medium-size birds in midair. Although Peregrines can tolerate a wide range of climatic conditions, their avian prey may be less adaptable, so the falcons could face food shortages in a changing climate. Increased heat waves and wildfire will also pose a threat.

About the Artist: A graffiti artist–turned–street artist from Wagga Wagga, Australia, Damien Mitchell freehands his work using only spray paint. “For this wall I was given the topic and asked to make it ‘rock and roll,’” he says. “I originally wanted to have the falcon holding a Chihuahua… This was determined to be too much so I added some lightning and called it a day.”
