The South Dakota State Penitentiary and Jameson Annex in Sioux Falls have been placed on lockdown status as of 11:30 Sunday night.


 Senator John Thune continues his quest to become the Republican Leader in the U.S. Senate. Political experts say he took a step in securing the top position by donating $4 million in campaign funds to help other Republican senatorial candidates win their races.


According to the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, Chance Solberg walked away from Arise, a youth center in Sioux Falls at around 4 p.m. Saturday.


 Scattered showers and thunderstorms have developed early this morning west of Sioux Falls. Some of those thunderstorms have turned locally heavy.
