One-on-one with Garth Brooks ahead of 2 Cincinnati concerts

to me about how does it feel to be Back out here? You know, so many of these fans had tickets in 2020. They had to be postponed. They thought you were gonna be back last year at the last minute. You guys had *** canceled because COVID started spiking again. So it could be back on tour here in Cincinnati for your fans. What’s that like? It feels good. Try to remember that both not touring and touring is what you’re supposed to be doing, right? So you answer the call. So as *** citizen not being together is what we needed to do. That breaks your heart. So getting back together, I gotta tell you what we’re seeing. I don’t think it has anything to do with garth brooks. I think people are so, so happy just to be back together again and you’ll see in *** room where people, if they knew each other might not get along, my mom might be red might be blue out here. They’re gonna have their arms around each other just singing the river together. Friends in low places, which then for me that means music for me is the voice of hope. So I love to watch that. That was my second question. It’s like for three hours, this country is more divided for three hours. You get people who are divided on politics divided on issues who will come together and just to watch you, what is that like for you? I think they’re just, I think what they’re doing is hopefully is the music is replacing the music is showing them what we have more in common than what we have apart, right. And I think people are basically good. I think luke bryan, that song is is perfect and I love to see them come out and just sing and I think you see the true them when their eyes are closed and they feel like they’re the only ones in the stadium singing it is it’s *** beautiful thing. And I got the best seat in the house, so I get to watch it. But for you, you’re talking about the fans for you to be back. How much did you miss it? You’re missing *** lot. Try to remember that these guys are the guys have been playing with since day one. So we’ve been together our whole lives. So and we didn’t get to see them during the pandemic either. So it’s great to see them. Great for everybody to come back and I love it. And and our thing is always this, there’s there’s people in the crowd that had masks still alright, respect that we all get over this at our own pace, respect it and there’s so much love out there. But the truth is when everybody’s singing, close your eyes, you don’t know who has mask, you don’t and you don’t know who’s red or blue, That’s what makes it *** joy? Yes, ma’am. Are you back until you can’t walk out there on stage again, will you ever take *** break again? No, Well we came out of retirement 2014. I told you then you’ve made the mistake of letting me back in now. You have to kick me out. So we’ll see how long this goes. Yes, ma’am. Okay. Favorite country music song of all time for you. Oh, he stopped loving her today or country bumpkin cal smith. Favorite Garth brooks song the Dance. This is an easy game so far. I never passed the test favorite. This is *** toughie favorite city. You play in it. It’s got to be Cincinnati. Wait now, you know, we have *** kind of *** Cincinnati thing. Yes, ma’am. Have you tried our chili? I’ve heard of it, but of course this is not our first time to play here. So skyline, we’ve all done. Yes, of course you be honest. Do you like? Of course, look at me, do I look like I didn’t like anything. Okay. Lastly, you know, you’re *** baseball player. Um, follow sports. I can tell you just came from Xavier. I don’t know if you’ve seen but are struggling *** little bit this year. They might need you, you’re willing to like step in. That’s very sweet anybody that gets to wear the big red machine is lucky, blessed because these guys are these guys are legends no matter what their season is. But are you sure you want to say that after the last four games because they’ve been kicking it out of everybody? Okay, good luck. I need that. I need that concert tomorrow night. I need that one to happen. Who’s your meteorologist? Tell Kevin. Get to work?
