Phoenix Police detectives are searching for suspects of a violent shooting that left one victim dead and one injured, at an Ahwatukee apartment complex early Friday morning.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just after 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex located at 11025 South 51st Street. When officers got to the scene, they contacted several witnesses and detained individuals believed to be involved in the shooting. Two adult male victims were also located in the apartment swimming pool area and were treated for gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital for care, with one being released with non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim identified as 19-year-old Kashmir Vaughn was not able to survive his injuries and died at the hospital.

Detectives learned that two groups of people were in a verbal argument inside the fenced area of the apartment swimming pool area where the shooting took place.
