SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — The South Dakota Department of Corrections (DOC) is warning the public of a violent offender that will be released from prison soon.

In a news release, DOC said Moises Aguilar-Hernandez, 47, will be released April 17. Aguilar-Hernandez served a 15-year sentence at the state prison for sexual contact with a minor under 16. The offense happened in Beadle County.

DOC Secretary Kellie Wasko said in the news release that Aguilar-Hernandez’s criminal history of sex offenses and other institutional assessments indicate a high risk for him to reoffend.

Aguilar-Hernandez is being released in Huron. He is 5’11” tall and has black hair and brown eyes. The DOC news release said since 2011, there have been 16 notices of pending high risk offenders.
