A woman was killed early on New Year’s Day when she was struck by a vehicle in Waukegan, the Lake County Coroner’s Office said.
The victim was identified as Tiffany Thomas, 44, of North Chicago. She died from blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said.
Thomas was hit by a car at about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Lewis Avenue and Jenkinson Court, according to authorities. Responding police officers found Thomas in the roadway; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Waukegan police did not respond to a request for additional information Friday.
