The Pokémon Company has collaborated with Converse Japan to release a classy collection of Pokémon sneakers.

As reported by Kotaku, the set of four designs – based on Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, and Mewtwo – has only been announced for Japan so far and are priced at ¥9,900 (around $75).

The Pokémon side of the collaboration isn’t over the top, with each pocket monster only really lending their colour palette. A small pixel art version of each Pokémon is also stamped on the tongue with their basic Pokédex details printed near the heel.

Pokémon x Converse Japan Collaboration

Despite the minimalist design there are plenty of little details to win over Pokémon fans. Each shoe comes with a shoelace tag based on different Poké Balls, with Pikachu getting a regular version, Eevee getting a Great Ball, Charizard an Ultra Ball, and Mewtwo, of course, getting a Master Ball.

The shoe box has a similarly sleek and subtle Pokémon design, as alongside the Converse x Pokémon logo on its lid, it’s coloured to resemble a Poké Ball: red on top and white on the bottom.

Pokémon is no stranger to collaborations, with official Pokémon skateboards, Katy Perry tracks, Tamagotchis, and even commercial airlines all having been worked on.

It’s also not the only major gaming franchise to get a clothing line recently, with Uniqlo releasing a series of Final Fantasy t-shirts. Bizarrely, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida even used the clothing line to announce his game was in the final stages of development.
