SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The Brockhouse taxidermy animal collection at the Delbridge Museum has a new 25-page report with a list of possible recommendations for how city leaders could move forward with the historic and nostalgic animal collection.

The report, prepared by A.M. Art Conservation and George Dante Studios, was highlighted during a work group meeting Friday at the City Center. The full report, which you can read below, includes a history of the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, taxidermy ethics, survey data on the collection, arsenic testing and recommended next steps for city leaders.

In August 2023, the city closed the Delbridge Museum at the Great Plains Zoo, citing risks with arsenic on some of the taxidermy mounts.

KELOLAND News was at Friday’s work group meeting and will have more coverage online and on-air.
