Letran was far too superior for Jose Rizal University on Saturday, keeping its unbeaten streak going, 81-59, with relative ease in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the La Salle Greenhills gym.

Jeo Ambohot had 14 points and 12 rebounds while Brent Paraiso buried three triples for 12 points as the Knights made short work of the Heavy Bombers to remain as the lone unbeaten team with a taintless 7-0 record.

Rhenz Abando compiled another highlight reel with his deep array of athletic moves, including a breakaway two-handed jam when the outcome was already beyond doubt.

The defending champion Knights next face the San Sebastian Stags before engaging in the much-advertised clash with the San Beda Red Lions on Friday.

Homer Macatangay and Jason Celis tallied 11 points each for the Heavy Bombers, who saw themselves being led to the exit with a seventh defeat in eight games.

They bungled the chance to catch the bus for a play-in slot that could provide passage to the semifinals.
