SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — A motorcyclist that died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Hartford has been identified, in a news release from the Department of Safety.
Kellin DeVries, the driver of a 1999 Harley Davidson, was traveling westbound on SD Highway 42 near mile marker 350. At the same time, a 2016 Dodge Ram, was being drive by a 19-year-old man eastbound on SD 42.
The truck attempted to pass the vehicle in front of him by entering the westbound lane. While passing, he collided head-on with the approaching motorcycle.
DeVries was wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
