SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The 65-year-old cyclist from Aberdeen, killed in a crash on December 26, has been identified by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
DPS says that Roger Genung died of his injuries after being struck by a Ford F-150 while riding his bike on the shoulder of 2nd Ave. NE.
When the crash was first announced, DPS stated that the driver, 45-year-old Brandon Ellen Smith had been charged with DUI and possession of marijuana.
Court documents have not yet been filed, but authorities say charges are pending against Smith.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
