AUSTIN, TEXAS (KELO) — Sioux Falls native Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda scored a career-high 19 points to help lead top-ranked Texas to a 65-48 win over No. 8 Illinois in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Monday afternoon.

The junior guard went 7-for-10 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line in 29 minutes of action off the bench. She also pulled down six rebounds. She has now scored in double figures in each of Texas’ NCAA Tournament games as she tallied 10 in Saturday’s win over William & Mary.

The Longhorns (33-3) advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season and fourth time in the last five tournaments. They will play 5-seed Tennessee later this week in the regional semifinal in Birmingham, Ala.
