ANDERSON, Ind. – Police are investigating after several people were injured in a shooting during a large gathering in Anderson.
According to the Anderson Police Department, just after midnight, officers responded to the 2200 block of Arrow Avenue on the report of a large gathering.
As officers responded, they received more information that multiple people were blocking the roadway and fighting, then escalated to gunfire moments later.
When officers arrived, they located several people with gunshot wounds. Those individuals were transported to area hospitals for treatment, police say. Two of the victims were reported to be in serious condition, according to police.
Authorities are still working to working to determine the exact number of people injured during the incident.
