Scattered showers and storms will be with us off and on through this afternoon, marking an unsettled Tuesday for the entire state! This is great news and certainly much needed, due to the recent drought status and active burn bans.

A few stronger storms could be in play but most areas will receive rain with lightning at times. It may turn a touch breezy, too, from the southwest at 8-15 mph.

Drier air will begin to work in this evening, with only a lingering shower overnight. The air will cool and with the damp ground, expect fog to develop in spots. This could create some minor issues through Wednesday morning.

Mostly dry weather will hold for Wednesday and Thursday before remnants of Helene begin to impact our weekend forecast. For now, rain and wind could be in play by late Friday afternoon and through Saturday morning. This will need to be watched, as the track could greatly vary in the days ahead.
