Getty Images/iStockphotoA mountain lion that wandered into a San Francisco Bay Area high school Wednesday morning is being safely held in an English classroom until wildlife experts arrive on scene, officials said.
Javier Acosta, a detective for the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, said custodians discovered the mountain lion at Pescadero High School early this morning.
“As of right now, students and teachers are all safe,” Acosta said. “The mountain lion is being contained to the English classroom. We are on scene to make sure everyone is safe.”
A mountain lion was contained in the English classroom at Pescadero High School on June 1, 2022.

“They’re trying to formulate a plan to safely and humanely remove the mountain lion,” Acosta said.
The animal is likely a juvenile. “It probably got lost,” Acosta said.
Pescadero is a small coastal town about 45 miles south of San Francisco in San Mateo County.
