A man operating a motorcycle died at a hospital after colliding with a car in North Phoenix late Friday morning.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on June 9, 2023, at about 10:43 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Cave Creek and Jomax Roads for a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger car. When officers got the intersection, they found 64-year-old Gerald Reece suffering from serious injuries.

Phoenix Fire personal responded to the scene and took Mr. Reece to the hospital where he did not survive his injuries.

Detectives learned that the motorcycle driver struck the back of a stopped car while he was driving south on Cave Creek Road. The driver of the car stayed on scene and was evaluated for impairment, no signs were noted.
